La scuola si è recentemente dotata di una stampante 3D. Questa macchina è in grado di produrre oggetti tridimensionali. Essa lavora interpretando un modello digitale tridimensionale. Il modello viene costruito con un software specifico che prima elabora e poi invia alla stampante le istruzioni di stampa tramite connessione WIFI.
La macchina costruisce il prototipo sovrapponendo strati di materia plastica fusa che coincidono con sezioni dell’oggetto stesso.
Più è fitta la scansione delle sezioni, più gli strati di stampa risulteranno sottili, più alta sarà la risoluzione di stampa, ovvero migliore la qualità e il dettaglio dell’oggetto prodotto.
La stampante è stata introdotta a scuola con il preciso intento di avvicinare i nostri studenti alle nuove tecnologie protagoniste del futuro. Secondo le stime, entro il 2020 i millennial saranno un terzo della forza lavoro globale e sanno bene che questo offrirà maggiori occasioni per definire la loro carriera professionale e il settore in generale.
Questa generazione è desiderosa di accogliere tecnologie emergenti che potrebbero creare un impatto significativo, come la AM (Additive Manufacturing). Secondo un recente sondaggio condotto da Visa, un incredibile 56% dei giovani tra i 18 e i 34 anni ha indicato la stampa 3D come percorso professionale futuro.

Our school has recently acquired a 3D printer, a machine able to produce three-dimensional objects. The way it works is by interpreting a three-dimensional digital model, which is built with a specific software that first processes and then sends printing instructions to the printer via a WIFI connection.
The machine then builds the prototype by superimposing layers of molten plastic that coincide with sections of the object itself. The thicker the scanning of the sections, the the thinner the layers will be. Consequently the print resolution will be higher and the quality and details of the product better.
The printer was purchased with the aim of bringing our students closer to the new technologies that will play a key role in the future. According to many estimates, by 2020 the millennials will make up one third of the workforce so they need to prepare to define their professional career .
This generation is eager to use emerging technologies that could create a significant impact on our way of life, such as AM (Additive Manufacturing). According to a recent survey conducted by Visa, 56% of young people between the ages of 18 and 34 indicated 3D printing as a future career path.
