BY TRAIN (Train Line: Bologna – Ferrara – Venezia)
There are approximately two trains each hour which run from Ferrara to Bologna. The journey takes about 30 minutes by InterRegionale trains. Just outside the main entrance to the station you can catch a specific airport bus which leaves every 12 minutes (Aerobus BLQ). If you decide to use your own car it is possible to book in advance and leave your car at the airport’s long-stay car parks or in one of the cheaper car parking companies which are only a few minutes away from the airport. “Park to Fly” for example, offers uncovered and covered parking facilities and a shuttle mini-bus which takes you to and from the airport. Go to Venezia Mestre station then catch the Venice Airport Shuttle bus from the bus station which is on the right hand side coming out of the main entrance (follow the signs). Tickets for the bus can be bought at the ATVO ticket office in Via Cappuccina just next to the bus station, from “Bar Binario” at the station, or from the ATVO automatic machine at the bus station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Bus tickets for the return journey can be bought at the airport from automatic ATVO machines in the hallway.
