Stellata – Bundan Celtic Festival

20th, 21st and 22nd July

In Stellata , at the fortress “la Rocca Possente di Stellata”
This is an exciting, historical festival which takes place each year along the banks of the river Po around the fortress of Stellata. The festival opens in the evening with the lighting of an enormous bonfire. You can listen to traditional Celtic music, folk stories for children, try the local food, take part in Celtic games and visit the numerous craft stalls.

Mangiafeexpo 2018

9th – 14th July, from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Piazza Ariostea
This is a food festival with local and regional dishes. This year there will be 32 different food tasting areas, with small menus for people who would just like to have small tastes (‘menu degustazione’). In this way they can visit more areas. There will also be restaurant areas for those who would like to have lunch or dine out.


Opera at the Castle – ‘Nabucco’

Tickets for this lovely event are already on sale at the Teatro Comunale’s ticket office. It may be possible to buy tickets on the same day, an hour before the performance, but this is a very popular event so hurry up and buy yours!

Ferrara’s “Jazz and Blues Festival” returns once again to the cloisters of Santa Maria on the corner of Via Mortara, near our school. The concerts are free, though donations are welcomed. Why not relax and cool down in the summer evenings and listen to some excellent music? This year’s programme includes a couple of tribute bands:

Photographic Exhibition – Nature

From June until 16th September
Natural History Museum in the centre of Ferrara (Closed on Mondays)
This exhibition is entitled ‘Attimi’ – ‘moments’ captured on camera by Milko Marchetti. Admission to the museum costs 4 euro for adults and 2 euro for children.

Try tiny skewers of pork or liver, a mixed grill, ‘Cappelletti’, ‘Cappellacci’ and a selection of traditional deserts to choose from.

Ferrara – La Tavola Rotonda

This is the ‘Knights of the Round Table Banquet’ with traditional dishes, music, fireworks, archery tournaments, flag-throwing performances, fire eaters and giant chess games. It is an enjoyable festival for all the family and only a bike ride away.
